For editing, I use Microsoft Word's Tracked Changes and Comment functions or Google Docs' Suggesting function.
Developmental Editing
$0.012 per word
Concentrates on story structure, such as character arcs, plot holes, pacing, and more. Ensures that the “big picture” elements are effectively telling the story you want to be telling. Includes comments with suggestions and queries throughout, as well as an edit letter detailing the process.
Copy Editing
$0.01 per word
An examination of clarity, consistency, and correctness of language in story details. I will make comments throughout with suggestions and queries, as well as provide an edit letter that details changes, suggestions, and improvements.
Proofreading
$0.005 per word
Focuses solely on formatting and grammar. Functions as a final pass for a piece of writing. My goal is to weed out anything incorrect or inconsistent in the piece.
